There are a bunch of them.
Townie bars:
- Old Town Tavern on Liberty Street at .
- The Rathskeller, under The Heidelberg - at least until recently. The townies moved up to the restaurant bar.
- Fraser's Pub out on Packard Street.
- Casey's, down on Depot Street.
Downtown bars:
- The 8 Ball Saloon, under the Blind Pig.
- The Alley Bar, formerly Bab's, formerly The Flame. On Liberty Street.
- The Arena, sports with bar-food. Corner of Fourth and Washington.
- Bab's
- Circus, part of the Cavern Club complex. On First Street.
- The Full Moon, serves some food. on Main. (gone - replaced by Monkey Bar)
- Goodnight Gracies, also a venue, below Live at PJ's.
- Live at PJ's, also a venue. Corner of First and Huron.
- OZ, also a venue. On Fifth in the old Ann Arbor 1 & 2 building. (shut down - too many stabbings)
- Vinology, at 110 N. Main, serves food and has a retail wine section in the basement.
Downtown bar/restaurants:
- Ashley's is on State Street near campus.
- Cafe Felix, drinks and small plates on Main Street.
- Grizzly Peak extended into where Del Rio used to be.
- Red Hawk is on State Street near campus.
- Rush Street, on restaurant row, Main Street.
- Bar Louie is on Liberty at Division. It has two outdoor seating areas, and looks to be installing about 10 large-screen TVs (oh, joy).
Student-oriented bars around campus:
- Buffalo Wild Wings, AKA BW3, serves you wings with your beer. State and Washington.
- Good Time Charlies, on South University.
- Mitch's Place, on South University.
- Rick's American Cafe, plus touring college bands. South University area.
- Scorekeepers, on Maynard Street.
- Touchdown Cafe, on South University.
Ypsilanti Bars
- Buffalo Wild Wings, [[Pearl Street] and Washington
- Sidetrack Bar and Grill in Depot Town
- Aubree's with great pizza and pool upstairs, Depot Town
- TC's Speakeasy on Michigan Avenue
- Tap Room on Michigan Avenue and Washington
- Elbow Room on South Washington
- Powell's Pub on Huron River Drive
- Theo's on West Cross Street.
- MJ's Wooden Nickel at LeForge and Huron River Drive.
Long gone bars: Del Rio, Bimbo's, Pretzel Bell, Cross Street Station, D'angora's
Really long gone bars: Joe's Star Lounge, The Orient, Mr. Flood's Party, Clint's Club
Brewpubs:
- Arbor Brewing Company, on Washington Street, is run by Matt and Rene Greff. The Greffs are Ypsilanti residents and very active in the local Democratic Party; Rene additionally serves on Ann Arbor's DDA. They also have the Corner Brewery in Ypsilanti. The Corner Brewery features a beer garden and is able to bottle beer for outside sale - ABC can only sell beer in-house.
- The Blue Tractor
- Grizzly Peak, also on Washington Street, is run by Jon Carlson.
- Leopold Bros, on South Main Street, is run by Scott and Todd Leopold, and aims to be "the world's first sustainable brewery," including a homegrown water management system and waste management strict enough that Todd claims wooden shipping pallets are their only significant waste product. They distill award-winning gin, vodka, and fruit liquours, and are widely considered to have the best jukebox in town.
