A fast-spreading roof fire heavily damaged six businesses at the Chelsea Shopping Center at M-52 and Old US-12 in Chelsea this afternoon. ...

A call reporting smoke in a building came from Hick's Cleaners about 12:30 p.m. said Chelsea Fire Chief Jim Payeur. The blaze quickly spread through the roof to The Glass Slipper, the Chelsea Pharmacy, Aleko's Carryout, Edward Jones and the Chelsea Grille.
