Michigan Avenue

Jump to: navigation, search

In the days before interstate highway system, Michigan Avenue was the best way to get from Detroit to Chicago. Now classified US-12, it remains a major road in Ypsilanti, running directly though downtown and separating the historically African American neighborhoods from the rest of the city north of the avenue.

We'll start at the eastern edge of Washtenaw County and head west through Ypsilanti and Saline.
