The New West Side Association, along with the Ann Arbor Alliance, is a student-renter neighborhood organization. It seeks to build a broad constituency for student and renter issues in Ann Arbor by promoting affordability, accessibility, and equity. Founded by urban planning students at the University of Michigan, the NWS is focusing on political mobilization and student engagement to effect social and political change within the city.
