Ypsilanti's River Street runs north from Michigan Avenue, just east of the Huron River, forming the eastern end of Depot Town.

In the South Depot Town neighborhood, River Street is boulevarded, with trees and flowers planted in the center median. Several large, stately houses on the west side back up to the Huron River, overlooking Riverside Park; houses on the east side are smaller, backing up to the historically industrial area along the railroad.
